Location:
Travelling, predominantly covering Munster and Connacht with some further travel required within Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and ambitious sales executive/ merchandiser seeking to further their career in sales and marketing, working with one of the fastest growing FMCG brands in Ireland.

Duration:         
This is initially a six month contract, starting in April 2018, with potential to become permanent at the end of six months, subject to performance. 

The Role:
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Merchandising & Sales Executive performs an important role, supporting the Glenisk brand in the retail environment and maximising space, share and sales. While this is not a predominantly ‘cold calling’ sales role, the candidate will be enthusiastic about identifying and securing new business opportunities.

General Responsibilities:

  • Manage the presence of the Glenisk brand in key retail accounts across the Midlands, Munster & Connacht regions.
  • Build relationships with retail partners in-store to better understand the needs of our retail partners and leverage opportunities for our brand.  
  • Work closely with the sales and marketing team in understanding and implementing the retail and brand strategy. 
  • Monitor the in-store environment to ensure promotions, POS and NPD are implemented to plan. 
  • Report findings to sales and marketing team and help inform future retail strategy.

  • Participate in brand activation and events 
  • Attend retail outlets and events with a view to building brand awareness and supporting sales. 
  • Conduct in-store promotions.
  • Support customer service team with logistical requirements

Working Week:           
The working week is typically 40 hours, Monday to Friday and will require some early starts or after hours work and occasional weekend work. Time off in lieu is provided for weekend work. The successful candidate will be travelling for the duration of the working week within the Midlands, Munster and Connacht areas primarily. Attendance at either Glenisk’s Sales & Marketing Office in Dublin, or Glenisk’s HQ in Tullamore, Co Offaly, will be required from time to time. 

The Candidate:
The successful candidate will have excellent inter-personal skills, a positive can-do attitude and the ability to forge strong relationships with key stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills and problem-solving skills are required as is a level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes including PowerPoint, Excel and Word. Common sense, cop-on and an ambition to execute the best possible sales activity is key!

Requirements:
A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role is required, with a track record in delivering results.

Full, clean driver’s license is required. Candidates must have all of the relevant visas required to work in Ireland.

Remuneration:
This is a salaried position and is not based on commission. A six-month contract will be awarded, subject to review at the end of that period.

A company vehicle will be provided.
