Introducing our new 1kg
High Protein Yogurt Bucket!
It’s not just for gym-goers and athletes — we all need it. “Protein helps us stay strong, building and maintaining strong, healthy muscles and bones. Whether you’re walking the dog, lifting weights, or chasing after kids — protein helps support your strength.. It’s a key nutrient that supports muscle health and everyday wellbeing.”- Sarah Keogh.” At Glenisk, we believe the best source of protein is real food — like our High Protein, Lactose Free Yogurt, packed with over 50g of clean, satisfying protein per pot.
“Protein quietly supports your whole body’s health and is an essential part of your daily nutrition. But before you reach for supplements, have a look at just how much protein you can get from natural food.” says Sarah.

This packaging choice was not made lightly. After extensive testing, we selected plastic for this product due to several factors:
Durability: Plastic provides excellent protective qualities, safeguarding the yogurt during transport and storage. This helps to minimise product loss and reduces waste resulting from damaged goods.
Convenience: Our pot supports busy lifestyles and allows for resealability to our customers, extending shelf life and maintaining product quality. This ultimately helps reduce food waste, a significant contributor to Irish carbon emissions. (835,000 tonnes in 2023) (et al EPA 2025). The plastic used in this new product is 100% recyclable. The 1kg bucket and lid are made from polypropylene (5PP), a widely recycled material in Irish Kerbside Recycling Systems.
Market Limitations: We continue to collaborate with leading packaging innovators to identify and develop ethically sourced, lower-impact materials. While current market options for fully renewable materials that meet our product and safety requirements are limited, we remain committed to finding better solutions.

Clean all yogurt contents from the bucket.

Dry it with a towel or leave to dry on the draining board.

Place the bucket, loose (no plastic bag), in your recycling bin.
Plastic today does not mean plastic forever. We view this as a transitional step, not a permanent solution.
We are actively investigating and investing in:
A company-wide goal to ensure that 100% of our packaging is recyclable, reusable, or compostable by 2030, in line with EU legislation.
We believe in transparency and accountability. Sustainability is rarely a straight path, and sometimes the most responsible decision in the short term is one that supports durability, product integrity, and food waste reduction.
We care deeply about our plastic use, and we ensure our customers that we take consistent action to reduce it wherever possible. Every decision we make is part of our long-term mission to protect the planet and do dairy differently.
Research and development of alternative materials that meet both our environmental and functional requirements.
Plant-based plastics, reusable systems, and compostable solutions for future packaging.

At Glenisk, we’re committed to reducing our environmental impact — and that means tackling plastic pollution head-on. Each year, up to 199 million tonnes of plastic enter our oceans. Without change, there could be more plastic than fish by 2050.
Since 80% of ocean plastic comes from land, our everyday choices matter. Products that aren’t properly recycled end up harming both land and marine ecosystems.
That’s why we’re proud to support Plastic Bank, a global social enterprise turning plastic waste into opportunity.
Our Role
As a Plastic Bank partner, Glenisk helps fund ocean-bound plastic recovery and supports circular economy initiatives in high-impact regions.
In 2025/2026, our partnership will prevent [insert figure] kilograms of plastic from entering the ocean — transforming waste into a resource and protecting biodiversity.
This is just one part of our wider sustainability journey — complementing our ongoing efforts to reduce plastic use across our own operations. Real change happens when we act locally and globally.
It is essential for businesses to manage waste in accordance with the law. By doing so, you are likely to save your business money. You will also protect our environment for future generations, embrace the circular economy and help Ireland tackle climate change.
