The best source of protein is real food – Sarah Keogh
We’ve teamed up with award-winning dietitian Sarah Keogh to get to the heart of it — to demystify protein, pull apart the hype, and provide you with real, food-first facts.
It’s not just for gym-goers and athletes — we all need it. “Protein helps us stay strong, building and maintaining strong, healthy muscles and bones. Whether you’re walking the dog, lifting weights, or chasing after kids — protein helps support your strength.. It’s a key nutrient that supports muscle health and everyday wellbeing.”- Sarah Keogh.” At Glenisk, we believe the best source of protein is real food — like our High Protein, Lactose Free Yogurt, packed with over 50g of clean, satisfying protein per pot.
“Protein quietly supports your whole body’s health and is an essential part of your daily nutrition. But before you reach for supplements, have a look at just how much protein you can get from natural food.” says Sarah.
“Most adults need about 0.8g of protein per kilogram of body weight daily,” says Sarah.“If you’re active, that can go up to 1.0–1.2g/kg. Older adults or those in training may need even more.” That means:
A 60kg adult needs around 48–72g per day
A 75kg active adult might need 75–90g or more
That may sound like a lot — but when you go food-first, it’s easier than you think to get there.
“Food-first” means choosing whole, natural foods over supplements where possible. When you eat real foods like yogurt, you get more than just protein — you also get calcium, vitamin B12 and other key nutrients that support energy, bones, and immunity.
High protein yogurt is a perfect food choice to add to almost any meal (check out our new recipes!) and makes a great mid-meal snack too.
Whether you’re fueling your day or fueling your game (like the Offaly GAA, Offaly Camogie & Offaly Ladies Football teams we proudly support), it’s a powerful way to support your body — naturally.
We make yogurt the way it should be — clean, simple, and seriously nourishing. Our High Protein, Lactose Free Yogurt is: Naturally high in protein and calcium, Free from powders, starches, gluten, or artificial additives, Lactose Free – suitable for everyone, including people with lactose intolerance

Lactose intolerance affects around 1 in 10 people in Ireland, and can also show up after illness or alongside coeliac disease.
When lactose isn’t digested properly, it can cause bloating, cramping, and digestive discomfort.
Glenisk’s Lactose Free High Protein Yogurt lets you enjoy all the benefits of dairy — without the symptoms.
“Dairy is rich in nutrients we don’t want to miss,” says Sarah.“Lactose-free yogurt is the smart, gentle option for people with a sensitive gut.”
Whatever your goals, whatever your pace — Glenisk High Protein Yogurt makes it easier to feel nourished, balanced, and strong. No shortcuts. Just real food that works.
