Good Food.
Better Business.

At Glenisk, we’ve always believed that making good food comes with a responsibility to do good too.

As an Irish family-owned business, rooted in the heart of County Offaly, our commitment to organic farming, our people, our communities and the environment has shaped how we do business for generations.

Becoming a Certified B Corporation™ is an important recognition of that commitment and another step forward in our journey to build a business that makes a positive difference.

Rooted in organic. Committed to doing better.

Our organic journey began in 1995, and today we work with approximately 50 Irish organic family farms that share our commitment to responsible farming, animal welfare and caring for the land.

Organic farming has always been central to who we are. It informs how we source our milk, make our products and approach our responsibility to the natural environment.

But we also recognise that being a responsible business goes beyond what happens on the farm.
It means supporting the people who work with us, building strong relationships with our suppliers, contributing to our local communities and continually looking for ways to reduce our environmental impact.

B Corp certification recognises this broader commitment.

Glenisk has been part of the Cleary family story for generations.

From our home in Killeigh, County Offaly, we’ve grown into one of Ireland’s best-known organic dairy brands, while remaining committed to the values on which the business was founded.

Our relationships with our organic farming families, our employees and the communities around us are central to that story.

As a family-owned business, we believe in making decisions with the future in mind — not just for our business, but for the people and places connected to it.

Certification is a milestone, not a finish line

Becoming a B Corp doesn’t mean we’ve reached the end of our sustainability journey.

It means we’re committed to continuing to learn, improve and hold ourselves accountable.

We’re proud to join a global community of businesses working towards a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.

And we’re excited about what comes next.

Because at Glenisk, we believe good food should be part of a better future.

At Glenisk, we’re proud to be both certified organic and a Certified B Corporation™. While both certifications reflect our commitment to doing things responsibly, they look at different aspects of how we produce our food and operate our business.

In Ireland, organic food production is governed by strict European Union regulations, with oversight from the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine. Organic farms and food producers must meet rigorous standards covering farming practices, animal welfare, environmental protection and food processing.

These standards restrict the use of artificial fertilisers and pesticides, prohibit genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and place strict controls on the use of antibiotics and other veterinary medicines. Organic farming also promotes biodiversity, soil health and farming practices that work in harmony with nature.

Organic farmers and food producers are subject to regular inspections by approved organic certification bodies to ensure they continue to meet these requirements.

While organic certification focuses primarily on how food is produced, B Corp certification takes a broader look at how a business operates and the impact it has on people and the planet.

Awarded by B Lab, B Corp certification assesses a company’s performance across key areas including governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

Neither certification is better than the other. They serve different but complementary purposes.

For Glenisk, organic certification reflects our commitment to producing great-tasting food through responsible organic farming, while B Corp certification recognises our wider approach to operating as a responsible business.

Together, they reinforce something we’ve always believed:

Good food should be good for people, communities and the planet.
