A shared public space in your community, transformed into a beautiful heritage fruit orchard. Trees in bloom. Children playing beneath their branches. Families gathering in the shade as the seasons turn, year after year.
Together with Irish Seed Savers, we’re inviting communities across Ireland to bring this to life. Planting one hundred Heritage Community Fruit Orchards for our children, and for their children, to enjoy for generations to come.
These orchards are more than places to grow fruit. They are places to gather, to learn, and to remember. Spaces where community deepens and where stories are shared beneath trees that will outlive us all.

Nominate Your Community
Do you see a shared public space where something like this could grow?
Anyone can take the lead. All ages are welcome to nominate. (Young people simply need the support of a parent or guardian).
This begins with one person who cares.
We’re looking for places where people already come together, schools, GAA grounds, church lands, community greens, or other spaces held in common care.
You don’t need to have everything figured out. Just a sense that this could matter.
Tell us:
- Why it feels meaningful to you.
- Where your community is located.
- The space you have in mind.
- Who might help care for the orchard.
What Happens Next
Once you submit your nomination:
- We’ll review it with our partners at Irish Seed Savers.
- We may reach out to learn more about your space and community.
- Selected communities will be supported in planning, planting, and caring for their orchard.
- You’ll become part of a growing network of communities across Ireland planting for the future.
This is a shared effort rooted in care, collaboration, and long-term thinking.
